Students Against Destructive Decisions (S.A.D.D.) had their first meeting on September 29, 2016. Led by their advisor Mrs. Flanders, the club holds their monthly meetings in the North Attleboro High School cafeteria. In order to join S.A.D.D., a student must pay the $150 club and activity fee.
S.A.D.D. is a club that educates students of the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse, texting and driving, and other destructive decisions.
Grace Mcgoldrick, a senior participant in the club says, “It is a fun club and I like everyone that does it. It is going to be a good year because everyone is really excited to be there and was having fun at the first meeting. It gets everyone aware of destructive decisions and that alone is great!”
The first meeting consisted of an icebreaker game in groups to get to know each other better and also did a trivia game which resulted in free candy if you got an answer right!
Nicole Flynn, a junior participant in the club says, “I think I’ll learn good decision making skills and how to always make the right choice in potentially bad situations.”
S.A.D.D. was formed in 1981 and has impacted many lives. Over the past couple of years, the club has discussed modern issues plaguing our society including suicide, depression, and bullying. The S.A.D.D. club also recognizes the National Teen Driver Safety Week from October 16-22.
