NA Student Council Holiday Fundraisers

by Vinny Zammiello

For the second year in a row, the NAHS Student Council will be adopting families in need this holiday season. The fundraiser was very successful last year as they raised well over one thousand dollars for seven families. They provided these families with basic necessities such as warm clothes, food, and even soap. The fundraiser was very creative, and even led to Mrs. Todd singing Christmas songs in front of the whole school.

This year, the fundraiser raised twice as much money as last year, in part due to two new fundraisers: the Halloween Trunk or Treat, and the holiday pictures with Santa and bake sale earlier this month.present-300x245

In addition to these fundraisers, even more faculty members got involved with the fundraiser with the addition of a Giving Tree placed in the teacher’s room. The idea allows faculty members to contribute actual presents for families in need.

Also instead of adopting seven families like last year, the student council adopted 10 families in order to help as many families as possible.

“It’s really great to be able to help other families especially around the holidays,” said Student Council member Owen Costello.

“I think it is great how all of the presents bought helped families in need have an enjoyable holiday,” said senior Jack Dakin.
