Ever since Travis Scott tweeted “ALBUM MODE” in August, fans have been waiting for the project to drop. No official release date has been announced, but many believe it should drop sometime this fall. In an interview with Montreality last week, Quavo said that as soon as he had time, he and Travis would sort out the tracks.

The two artists haven’t collaborated before, so fans can only assume the turnout, with some fans eager to speak their thoughts.

“They are similar artists who both use auto tune, I think it has a lot of potential to be great,” said senior Max Fontes.

Culture II

by Migos

Culture II is a sequel to the group’s first number one Album Culture. It was released on January 27, 2017 and RIAA certified platinum on April 20th. The project is slated to be released sometime in October, although there is no official release date. The group has called their newest project “a masterpiece.” Quavo has indicated that rapper Cardi B, whose hit “Bodak Yellow” has reached number one on Billboard’s top 100, is featured in one of the album’s songs.

The first album was clearly a hit, however some could be skeptical that the follow up won’t live up to the hype of the first album.

When asked about the album, sophomore William Yeomans said, “I don’t think that it will be as good as the first one, but I still think that I will like it a lot.”

Mr. Davis

by Gucci Mane

On August 18th, Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane announced new album Mr. Davis and released one song from the album, “I Get the Bag.” As of Friday, September 22nd, it sits at number six on Billboard’s top R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs.

Just two days before the slated 9/15 release date,  Gucci dropped another song, “Curve.” Unfortunately for his fans, Gucci has pushed the release date of his highly anticipated album to October 13th.

Gucci is considered the pioneer of modern  trap music, and according to the Pigeons and Planes news website has released 130 albums and mixtapes since his 2005 debut. Due to the ample amounts of music, there is a lot that fans do and don’t like. The new project has two popular songs already out and fans hope that the rest of the album will follow suit.

On the album, senior Nathan Pearce said, “The few songs he’s released so far have been absolute bangers. I can’t wait for the rest of them to come out.”
