The Top 5 Most Underrated Tv Shows On Netflix

By Rielly Marcotte

Have you ever been scrolling through Netflix and get frustrated because you can’t find anything new or interesting to watch? Well, if you’re bored with your entertainment, here are the top 5 most underrated TV shows on Netflix in my opinion.

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Most people have heard of the show It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. However, it’s never won, or even been nominated for, any type of award. The show is about five friends who they refer to as “The Gang” who own a pub in Philadelphia. The show stars Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton, Rob McElhenney, Kaitlin Olson, and Danny DeVito. According the, this show is tied with The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet for one of the longest running live action sitcoms in American TV history. You’ll be laughing through all current 12 seasons, with two more on the way.
Tri-County junior Corinne Blasetti said, “This show has me laughing no matter how many times I watch an episode.”

2) Dexter
When a forensic blood analysis for the Miami Police Department is also a serial killer on the side, things can get messy. In the show Dexter, the main character, Dexter, works in the Miami Police Homicide unit, analyzing blood for a living. However, Dexter uses this job to get clues on the big serial killers on Miami, and take them out himself as a viglianti. This show has a main conflict if whether killing the killers makes you a good guy, or just one of them.
This show will leave you craving more, and the ending will almost make you wish you didn’t finish the show. Junior Elijah Boyd said, “I love the show Dexter, but the ending made me want to cry.”

3) How I Met Your Mother
How I Met Your Mother is a unique show. The show is based entirely on flashbacks. The main character Ted, played by Josh Radnor, is telling the story to his future children how he met their mother. Only you have to watch nine seasons to find out who he really marries. The show also features Ted’s four best friends Barney, Robin, Lily, and Marshall ( Neil Patrick Harris, Cobie Smulders, Alyson Hannigan, and Jason Segel). Throughout all nine seasons you see Ted go through a handful of unsuccessful relationships that only leave you dying to know who he finally marries.

4) The Office (British Version)
As one of the most popular shows for our generation at the moment, everyone knows of The Office. However, most of us probably are watching the American version that was actually based off the original British “mockumentary.” The British version is quite similar to the American version. Actually they are almost identical from everything to the characters personalities, the setup of the office used in the shows, and the details of the show. If you finish the American Office, and are missing it a little too much, then try out the British version!
Junior Emma Gunn commented, “I’ve watched the series six times over and still would watch every episode again.”

5) Parks and Rec
Another show similar to The Office is Parks and Rec. This show also being what they call a “mockumentary” features Amy Poehler as Leslie Knope, who, in the pilot, is trying to create a new community park in the fictional town of Pawnee, Indiana. Parks and Rec is very much like The Office in the sense of how the show is set up and the personalities of the actors. My own father used to watch this show and would always say, “this show is great if you’re 13 or 30!”
