Homecoming Week Plans

Last year’s homecoming rally will not be a tough one to beat, just as long as the fire alarm doesn’t go off again this year to cut the rally time in half.

Homecoming week is the most anticipated week of the year and excitement is growing as the week approaches. Throughout homecoming week, students can participate in daily themes. Tuesday’s theme will be Hawaiian day, Wednesday will be Boston sports day, Thursday is USA day, and Friday will be the class colors day for the rally. The class colors will be the same as usual, with freshman wearing yellow, sophomores wearing green, juniors wearing blue, and seniors wearing red and black.

There will be two contests during homecoming week. A dodgeball tournament in the middle school gym on Tuesday from 7:00 – 10:00 PM, and a trivia bowl in the high school theatre on Wednesday from 7:30 – 8:30 PM.

Following the rally Friday, the NAHS football team will face Stoughton at home on Beaupre field. This will take place on October 12th at 7:00 PM, and a large and loud crowd is expected to attend.

The day after the football game, the homecoming dance will take place. This will occur October 13th at 6:30 PM in the NAHS gymnasium. This dance is always a hit. NAHS senior Sabrina Hauer said it is her favorite part of homecoming week because she gets to have fun with her friends and hang out with them after.

The annual powderpuff game between the juniors and seniors will finish off the week  on Sunday October 14th at 11:00 AM at Beaupre field. The seniors will look to get a dub after losing last year’s game due to what they consider bad refereeing.

When discussing homecoming week, senior class president Todd Robinson said, “What I look forward to the most is seeing the whole school come together as one, but still have some competition between the classes.”

Homecoming is a busy yet exciting week at NAHS, and the school is looking forward to it.
