This week we will be looking at the NAHS boys soccer team. The boys in red have had a great season so far with a record of 6-5-1. As of now, they are on track to make playoffs and hopefully make a deep run to stay alive.
Led by captains James Sales and Kyle Briere, they started off the season very well going 2-0. Since then, they have faced adversity in many different times such as the game against a 1-0 loss against King Philip. Senior striker Matt Mordidi said, “It was a tough loss”
After that loss, the team buckled down and tried their best from there on out. In their latest game against Stoughton, they blew them out 5-0 in their most dominant game of the year. The team is doing a little bit better than what they expected for this year after losing some key players like Joe Hilf or Gavin O’Malley.
The seniors this year realize that it may be their last year playing soccer. Not all of them will get the chance to play outside of high school so they all want to make the most of what they have. Senior Dylan D’Ercole said, “I don’t know if I will be able to play outside of high school because college soccer teams are so competitive and even if I made one I don’t know if I would be able to handle all of my responsibilities”.
The team and all its senior leaders have had a good season so far, but they would like to finish off with a perfect record in the last 6 games. The NAHS boys are a tight-knit group who would do anything for each other and their team. The team is on the right path to make the playoffs and make a deep run. Good luck to the NAHS boys soccer!
