People come home from a long day at school or work and just want to relax for the rest of the night at their homes and watch tv. This though is not what’s necessary for the body.

People need to understand the importance of exercising and the benefits of working out because the different ways of working out help a person in mental and physical ways.

According to Edward R Laskowski, MD who works for Mayo Clinic exercising at least 30 minutes a day will help people stay in shape and healthy.

If people can’t find the time to go to a gym, there are many at-home workout programs that aren’t long and will help someone stay healthy. A lot of people now are buying the peloton bike which people enjoy and the commercials show people finding time to do it and how fast it is.

If you can make it to the gym, you have more options to stay in shape and even different classes that may interest certain people.

Depending on what you’re training for or what you think is best, people will do aerobic exercises like running which Amby Burfoot of the Podium Runner says will help them lose weight and look healthy. Running will also help people have a better cardiovascular system and make people’s bodies feel better while avoiding other diseases.

Other people workout by building muscle by doing anaerobic lifts like benching and squatting. Peggy Pletcher, M.S., R.D., L.D., CDE and Mandy Ferreira of Healthline say that lifting helps to build body mass and makes people stronger. Also lifting gives people confidence, fights the effects of aging and helps prevent injuries.

Doing both of these while eating healthy will make people look good, feel good and stay healthy.

Working out can also help the mind. It can make people feel good mentally and help with brain memory and brain health. Ashish Sharma M.D says “exercise helps reducing anxiety, depression, and negative mood and by improving self-esteem and cognitive function.

Exercise also helps people to relieve stress and helps people sleep better. This can help people be the best they can be in school or at work.

Evan Vigoritto said, “When I work out it helps me play at my best performance for sports, but it also helps me feel good about myself by looking a little bigger than other kids.”

According to Arlene Semeco MS,  RD of Exercise magazine, exercise will help or reduce people from getting high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, types of cancer and many other diseases or other health concerns.

Some people though believe working out is for people that are playing a sport but there is something for everyone to do to stay healthy.

Starting healthy habits in kids to workout will help them stay healthy and will make kids find ways to enjoy exercising for the future.

There are so many known benefits of exercising people just need to find ways and time to workout for their long term health. If you’re looking to start an exercise regimen, think about the small changes that you could make that will get your body moving: take the stairs instead of an elevator, park a little further away from the doors the next time you hit up Stop and Shop, or go for a brief walk around your neighborhood.
