High school football is a big tradition and event in a lot of towns across America. That is the same with our town of North Attleboro.

After coming off the worst season in about thirty years, the NAHS football team was excited and motivated to get the new season started.

When coronavirus hit the U.S people really didn’t know what was going to happen to football. As school approached, the MIAA decided to move the season to the end of February and play a shortened season.

This was exciting news knowing the team would get to play, but also every player knew it wasn’t going to feel the same.

After having a season finally planned players realised they won’t be playing in the 100th Thanksgiving game which probably hurt the seniors the most. Senior Robbie Donovan said, “My whole life I’ve thought about playing in the 100th game, but for the game to be stripped from me is the worst feeling because there’s nothing me or my team can do.”

The whole team however has not lost their efforts to have a good season by continuing the team workouts three times a week with safety precautions put in to keep players safe. Also small team practices have just been cleared, which will work with a position group and safety precautions have been put in place for those as well.

Senior Evan Vigorito said, “The workouts have helped people get bigger, faster and stronger. LTD at it’s finest.” LTD is the team’s motto standing for loyalty, toughness and dedication.

With the season now a few months away unless something changes the team is getting ready to be the best they can be.The team, and especially the seniors, know that it’s not the same feeling that has always been with playing football in North Attleboro but the team needs to still play the season hard because there is still a championship at stake.
