The North Attleboro Girls Soccer team ended their season on Wednesday, November 11th when they lost in the semi-finals of the playoff tournament to Whitman-Hanson 2-1.
Senior forward Hana Caster, said, “Girls soccer has never made it to the semi-finals of the tournament before so we are very proud to be the first team to do that. Even though we didn’t win, we still had an amazing season.”
The team entered the tournament as the 11 seed. Because of this, they had to play a higher seed in every game of the tournament. Their first tournament game was against Oliver Ames, who was the 6th seed. North won, 3-2, and moved on to play Franklin, who was the 3rd seed. They ended up winning 1-0 in an upset victory. This victory put them in the semi-finals for the first time in team history.
Senior captain Allie Grinavic, said, “We played at our best in the biggest games which really helped in the playoffs. We were able to win games against higher seeded teams which is very hard to do.”
The team will look to continue their success from this year into next year under the newly elected captains Grace McGoldrick and Julianna DiRenzo.
